About Us
Our Story
There and Back Again Travel was founded by Fred and Janet Stephens. We are lifelong travelers with a passion for adventure. We love to get immersed in different cultures while exploring the area. We seek out great snorkeling sites, hike in natural beauty, eat, seek out spectacular geographic areas, enjoy historical sites, eat, stay in lodging ranging from camping to luxury villas, and eat some more. We have been on about a dozen cruises (Did I say, "eat?!?"), and have another booked.
Wherever we go, we love to discover the local cuisine. Janet considers Fred to be a "natural chef," known for his sourdough breads. He considers cooking to be a performance art. We enjoy everything from street food to fine dining.
We love to find the music. Janet is a wonderfully talented dancer and Fred stumbles along. Local shows and cultural events are always entertaining. Sometimes, Janet is called to the stage to dance. Fred teases her about being a world famous dancer.
As a homebrewer, wine maker, and maker of Italian liqueurs, we enjoy occasionally lifting a glass of the local beverage specialty.
Our goal is to share our love of travel with others and help them explore our wonderful world in the style they love.
Our Process
There and Back Again Travel is a full service travel agency affiliated with Archer Travel Service, one of the largest travel agencies in the USA. It has been around about 70 years. We provide services allowing you to travel to nearly anyplace in the world in virtually any style you prefer.
We listen to you. We have an interview that we will go through with you so that we can both get to know you and understand your travel needs. We have a form that can be emailed to you or we can fill it out during a phone call, if you prefer. If you fill it out and send by email, we will ALWAYS require a phone follow-up call to ensure that we don't miss anything and that our service to you can be personalized.
After the follow up we can put together customized itineraries. Again, we will need to meet in person or over the phone to fine tune the plans to your needs and continue to build the relationship.
When you are ready to book, we will send you a credit card authorization form. No other form of payment is accepted. This form ensures that you know exactly what you will be charged for your booking.
Once booked, we will email the booking to you with any further instructions. We will contact you before your trip to ensure readiness. Should any issues occur during your trip, we are here to support you.

Additional Experiences
One of the great experiences for us was getting to go to a World Series Game! Unfortunately, our Colorado Rockies were swept by the Red Sox. But wow, oh, wow! What an experience! That picture is from our seats behind home plate as the Red Sox won.
